If possible, I always schedule portrait sessions to be just after sunrise or before sunset because the light is the softest and most flattering at those times of day. In the middle of the day, the sun is very bright and can be harsh and more difficult to shoot in. However, on overcast days the clouds act like a giant light diffuser and the lighting is much less harsh. While that might mean we lack the beautiful golden glow that I love, I also love soft, diffused light! Laura and Colson were in town for the weekend for their engagement session last weekend. If you live in Hampton Roads, you might remember that it poured on and off ALL day on Saturday! We were left with Sunday for their session and we had that awesome diffused light the whole time. Laura and Colson obviously have a great time when they are together, which always makes my job easy! I had a blast hanging out with these two and can’t wait for their wedding in Northern Virginia in a few short months!
