Shannon + Doug {Wedding} The Lesner Inn

beth-hamilton-photography-shannon-doug-lesner-inn-sage-gold-beach-wedding_0085I met Shannon at my office job going on about 10 years ago and we quickly became friends. Even though she left for college not long after that, we stayed in touch. I was THRILLED when I found out she was engaged and when she asked me about photographing her wedding day! Shannon is one of those people you can’t help but like. When I met Doug at their engagement session, I quickly saw how well they fit together and how much they make each other smile. I’m so happy that my friend found someone that makes her so happy! As the weekend approached, Hurricane Hermine also drew closer. We kept an eye on the weather all day and barely managed to sneak across the street to the beach when the rain was just a mile or two away. The wind was nuts and I nearly went hoarse trying to yell loud enough for the whole bridal party to hear me, but the sky was gorgeous and even the wind made for some really beautiful shots. I’m so thankful to have been a part of a wedding day with not only amazing vendors, but a wonderful couple with family and friends I’d love to work with every weekend. Congratulations Shannon and Doug!  View full post »

Lauren + Trevor {Maternity} Clifton, Virginia

Lauren+Trevor_Maternity_Session_Clifton_Virginia_001

Sometimes I feel like a broken record because of how much I say that it’s a blessing to be a part of the most exciting times in people’s lives, but I can’t help it – it’s so true! Just a little over a year ago, I shot Lauren and Trevor’s gorgeous wedding in Pennsylvania. I was thrilled when Lauren contacted me a few months ago about a maternity session. I recently traveled up to Clifton, Virginia for the session, where we explored a small, woodsy park. While we may have gotten a little lost at one point, we found some beautiful spots. Enjoy a few favorites from their session. Congratulations Lauren and Trevor! I’m so excited for you both as you start your little family!

Libby {Senior}

I shot Libby’s senior portraits a while back and even though it’s been a little while, I had to come back to share some images from this session that I really love. I had such a fun time getting to know Libby. She’ll be attending Liberty University this fall and I just know the future holds bright things for her!

Megan + Alan {Engagement} Suffolk

megan_alan_engagement_session_suffolk_01

When the weekend came for Megan and Alan’s engagement session and temperatures were in the 90’s, we opted for a sunrise session instead of the usual evening session time. I’m so glad we did! The light in the early morning is beautiful and temperatures are MUCH more comfortable than in the evening! We started at a family friend’s dock in the soft morning light and finished off of Main Street in Suffolk, near where Megan and Alan will tie the knot this October. I enjoyed spending some time with these two and look forward to their wedding day coming very soon! Enjoy my favorites! View full post »

Becca + Clay {Wedding} The Smithfield Center

beth-hamilton-photography-smithfield-center-rustic-navy-wedding-becca-and-clay_0091The thing that stands out to me about Becca and Clay is how amazingly sweet they are to one another. Clay is such a gentleman not just to Becca but to everyone (I tried not to let it make me feel old that he said “yes, ma’am” to me a lot), but his sweetness takes on new life when he’s with Becca or even just talking about her. Anyone who spends time with him and Becca can have no doubt that he is absolutely smitten with her. His reaction to seeing his bride walk toward him during the ceremony was one of the sweetest I’ve ever seen, but his love for Becca spills into every small interaction and gesture. Not to say that Becca isn’t crazy about Clay as well! They had a beautiful ceremony on the deck of The Smithfield Center and it was clear that they intend to have a marriage centered on their love for Jesus. Their wedding had hints of southern charm throughout, from the bride and groom’s cowboy boots to the baby’s breath and accents of burlap and lace. Becca looked incredible in a gown that truly looked like it was made for her. Their dog, Dusti, was the ring bearer and was an adorable addition to the day! Everyone at this wedding was wonderful to work with, including their lovely families and friends, wedding party, and of course the happy couple. Obviously I can’t say enough good things about this couple and this wedding. I’m so grateful that they trusted me to capture their wedding day! Congratulations Becca and Clay!
