2015 Wedding Favorites

It’s crazy to me to think that Nick and I are coming up on our five year anniversary this year! When I think back on our wedding day, there are so many little moments that I remember. One of my very favorite parts of our wedding day was our first look and the time we spent together afterward having portraits taken. There aren’t many moments on a couple’s wedding day that they will spend surrounded by other people, but portrait time is one of those times. Of course, the photographer is there too, but honestly I remember very little about my photographer during this time. I just remember being with Nick! As a photographer, that’s one reason why portrait time is something I prioritize on a wedding day. I want couples to actually enjoy spending this time together. Things like scheduling enough time for this part of the day is crucial so that it’s not rushed and you CAN enjoy it. My hope is that all of my couples look back on their wedding day portraits and remember how happy they were together! Here are some of my favorite wedding day portraits from 2015!

2015 Engagement Session Favorites

beth-hamilton-photography-engagement-sessions-2015_0001

I’m a little behind this year, but I still wanted to go back and recap some favorites from last year. Today I’m sharing some favorites from engagement sessions in 2015. I forgot how much fun it is to look back through my work this past year and relive these sessions. Some feel like they happened ages ago! When I think about my own engagement session almost 5 years ago, I remember how excited I was not just to have nice pictures of Nick and I for the first time, but especially how excited I was to marry this man I loved so much (cue “I Thought I Loved You Then” by Brad Paisley). I’m so grateful to these couples who allowed me into their lives and chose me to capture these images that I hope they’ll look back on in 5, 10, even 50 years and remember how excited they were! Caitlyn + Matt {Wedding} The Chrysler Museum of Art

Ask anyone who has planned a wedding recently or is in the middle of planning one and they will tell you that there is SO much that goes into it! Decision after decision and detail after detail. When a bride really puts her heart into pulling everything together, it really shows! It was so obvious that Caitlyn focused on every little detail of her wedding day. She and Matt had a black, white, and gold theme to their day and it extended all the way from the invitations to the ribbon wands that the guests waved at the end of the night. There were so many contributors that helped it all come together. The Chrysler Museum of Art was a gorgeous setting for their big day, Tina from Quintessential Events kept everything running smoothly, Caitlyn looked positively stunning in her Martina Liana gown from Pure English Bridal Couture, Kelly Gish Floral Designs never disappoints with her florals, and Blue Steel Lighting Design’s uplighting gave Huber Court the perfect finishing touch. Caitlyn and Matt, I’m so grateful to have been a part of your wedding day! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy my favorites from your day!

I love rings shots, so I’m always excited to go back through the year and put together my favorites from engagement sessions and weddings! On wedding days, I usually try to find a way to incorporate other details from the day like flowers or an invitation. Which one is your favorite?

2015 Behind the Scenes

beth-hamilton-photography-bts-2015_0001As I’ve gotten older, one thing I’ve learned how to do pretty well is laugh at myself. I wouldn’t say that confidence is one of my top personality traits. However, when I embarrass myself (which is more often than I’d like to admit), it makes life a whole lot more fun just to laugh and move on! I love this annual post not only because it gives you a chance to get a glimpse of what shooting weddings is like, but  also because it’s often hilarious. You may get a laugh at my expense, but that’s ok! I’ll be laughing right along with you. Thank you so much to the amazing couples that invited me to be a part of their wedding day this year! I appreciate it more than I can say. Of course a big shoutout to my amazing second shooters this year as well! I couldn’t have done it without you.

Enjoy!
