Lauren + Trevor {Wedding} Farmhouse at People’s Light and Desmond Hotel, Malvern, PA

beth-hamilton-photography-desmond-farmhouse-at-peopleIt makes such a big difference to me when I feel like I really connect with my couples. One of the highlights of what I do is showing up to weddings and being greeted as a friend. My second shooter and I spent a couple of days in Malvern, Pennsylvania for Lauren and Trevor’s wedding and everyone made us feel so at home. I can’t tell you how many times we were encouraged to have a good time or asked if there was anything we needed. I’m there to serve my couples and it always amazes me when they stop to think about ME. I think it just goes to show what awesome clients I have! Lauren was a bridesmaid in Krissy and Kyle’s wedding last year and it was a joy to work with her again. She and Trevor are the kindest people and I’m so happy they asked me to be their wedding photographer. There were so many beautiful moments during their day and I’m excited to share some of my favorite images! Congratulations Lauren and Trevor! Special thanks to my second shooter Sarah for road tripping with me and doing a fabulous job as usual!

Danielle + Ryan {Wedding} Renaissance Hotel Portsmouth

beth-hamilton-photography-renaissance-portsmouth-wedding-photography_0111Much of Danielle and Ryan’s story takes place in Portsmouth. It’s where they had their first date at The Bier Garden. It was on the waterfront that Ryan asked Danielle to be his wife. And it was where they exchanged vows on a rainy Saturday in June at the Renaissance Hotel. The ceremony was planned to be outside with the Elizabeth River as the backdrop, but stormy skies moved everything inside. There is so much thought and planning that goes into a wedding day, but just as in life, sometimes we have to be flexible and roll with it! Danielle and Ryan were excited and positive, even while hiding under an awning with me when the downpour started again during portraits, even while doing bridal party pictures in a busy lobby, and especially when they became husband and wife in an upstairs ballroom of the hotel. They had classy navy blue details with sunflower accents and pops of coral. All the guests danced and celebrated into the evening with these two. Storm clouds or not, it was a beautiful day! Congratulations Ryan and Dani!

Justina {Bridal} Smithfield, VA

Now that Justina is a married lady, I can share her bridal portraits! I had a great time hanging out with her and Jason’s parents during her session. Bridals are just one more chance for me to get to know my clients and of course photograph a gorgeous bride, which is one of my favorites. Justina was stunning in her Pronovias gown and beautiful veil. I’m so grateful to have met this Mississippi gal and be a part of this exciting time in her life!

Justina + Jason {Wedding} Mariner’s Museum, Newport News

beth-hamilton-photography-mariners-museum-wedding-justina-and-jason_0119Even though they are from different parts of the country (Jason from Hampton Roads and Justina from Mississippi), they both spent a lot of time on the water growing up. This singular point of interest would be what would spark the beginning of their relationship that would grow into a very deep love. There were anchors scattered through the details of their wedding day. This was so fitting not only because it was symbol of what started the whole story, but also because of the symbolism of an anchor in general. Something helping to hold you strong even in the midst of stormy seas. Jason and Justina were a joy to be around and their sweet love was a beautiful thing to capture. It’s times like this that I wish I was better with words because I can’t quite express how much I enjoyed working with them. I’m so thankful they chose me to document their wedding! I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their beautiful day View full post »

Sherri + Kevin {Wedding} Nansemond River Golf Club

beth-hamilton-photography-suffolk-wedding-photography-sherri-kevin_0094Sherri is one of those people that when she’s around, you can’t help but have a good time. Her laugh is contagious and she laughs a LOT! She’s quirky in an awesome kind of way, which you’ll get a glimpse of when you see the shoes she wore with her wedding dress. She’s one of the most down to earth people I know and I’m so happy she and Kevin gave me the opportunity to photograph their wedding day! Sherri is a good friend of mine and was hesitant to hire me because she was concerned I wouldn’t have a good time. While I DO love being a guest at weddings sometimes, the fact is that I love shooting weddings for friends because it’s really special for me to be intimately involved in their wedding day and witness parts of the day that I wouldn’t as a guest. I feel like I get to serve my friends, which is really awesome. Sherri and Kevin got married on a BEAUTIFUL Saturday in May. With an almost completely outdoor reception, it was perfect. The two of them laugh so much when they’re together and there is so much joy in their images! Sherri and Kevin, THANK YOU so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day. I loved being a part of it and am so excited for the two of you!
